An Abundance of New Releases!

We have been busy bottling many new releases and are currently pouring 20 wines in our tasting room!  Drop by for some tasting or enjoy your favorite by the glass.  Here are the tasting notes for those wines recently released, or about to be released:

2010 Riesling

A very charming wine with good weight and backbone. Very ripe pineapple, melon and honeysuckle are the primary aromatics. Typical Lake Michigan Shore characteristics of minerals and lime zest with an austere finish. Roll Chevre in paper thin slices of ham, then grill. Serve on a bed of sautéed ramps and morels.

2012 Semi Dry Riesling

An Auslese Trocken style wine. This massively fruity wine, dominated by peach, pineapple and lime, is racy with a little residual sugar, but finishes almost dry.  Try it with Moroccan chicken with cumin and couscous.

2012 Late Harvest Riesling

We hand selected clusters of botrytized fruit to craft this wine. It is polished, with harmony and elegance in excess. This wine would be considered an Auslese Halbtrocken.  This calls for Foie Gras !!

2012 Grüner Veltliner

The golden color, tells of very ripe fruit. Nuances of fresh cut wild flowers, white pepper and Queen Anne cherries, meld together in this sleeping lion of a wine. It will age well.  A good picnic pairing would be bacon BLT with spicy aioli and caraway roasted potatoes.

2012 Gewürztraminer

This complex wine has an extensive list of descriptors including, rose scented powder, lychee, ginger, lemon, mango, pepper and spices. No residual sugar, with an austere finish. This one grows on you. Pair with hot and sour coconut soup and spicy shrimp spring rolls.

2011 Chardonnay

A harmonious balance of the grape and winemaking technique. Aromas of toasty oak and crème. Silky texture with flavors of poached pears and honey. Grilled turkey breast with a green mole sauce and totopos (tortilla chips) with guacamole.

Rouge Doux

This slightly sweet Cabernet Franc packs loads of black bramble berries and chocolate mousse aromas in the nose. The sweetness is balanced with acid and tannins. This is a great Brunch wine. A buffet of Gravlox, Serrano Ham, grilled figs with prosciutto, gorgonzola, spinach with warm pancetta vinaigrette…basically any salty or salt cured treats.
